I am an Austrian who lives in a small town in the Rocky Mountains in Colorado. Traveling was always a huge part of my life and I would hop on a plane for work, to visit my family in Europe, my teachers in India, my friends etc. Since March of 2020, I have not been able to leave the Western USA. This is my biggest challenged caused by COVID.
In many other aspects, things have remained the same. I live a very simple life in support of my practices. As the world suffers countless hardships during this global pandemic, I feel incredibly privileged to have yoga and true guidance. I am able to remain focused and keep both feet firmly on the ground.
With a certain clarity, I can navigate daily challenges and make decisions which are not based on emotions like anxiety or fear. This internal power, I feel, leads to physical and mental resilience and strength which I am so grateful for.
I am quite a social being and sometimes I miss my family and friends, but because of where I am and how I live my life, I am fine with spending a lot of time by myself. I am still able to go outside and be in nature, feel the sunshine in my face, go for a ski or a walk through the snow.
There will be a time again, when humans can gather safely. Until then, I will certainly enjoy the pace of life and its stillness as it is.
