Year Two Review Week, Sintra, Portugal, May 2017
Post from Kristin
Dear Jivana Yoga students,
Sintra, Portugal, is beautiful.
We have been enjoying lively classes on vibhūti pāda from the Yoga Sutra and a review of the three prakṛti, vāta, pitta and kapha, and three guṇas, sattva, rajas and tamas. These sessions include Saṃskṛta chanting and word-for-word translations of the texts. There is also a daily subhāṣita class. And, of course, the day begins with a wonderful practice in which a series of new asana and prāṇāyāma are being introduced.
These review intensives are extremely valuable, paving the way for a solid foundation in both the deeper understanding of Yoga and its sister science, Ayurveda.
In the coming posts, some of the participants will be sharing their impressions and a bit of the teachings. We hope you enjoy these offerings and that a seed is planted that may grow into your attending next year’s review week.
Namaste,
