In May, the U.S. retreat with Ganapathiārya and Madhukeshwarārya, brought together like minded aspirants, united in their sincere interest in the wisdom of yoga.
“In this retreat, let us try to sip a little honey collected from different flowers of this divine earth by humble bees.”
These words echoed the spirit of the retreat. Set in a peaceful and uplifting environment, the gathering offered a quiet space for reflection and learning. For those who joined, it was a heartfelt opportunity to come together in community and contemplate the timeless teachings shared with sincerity and humility.

Reflections from Sintra
Five wonderful days of auspicious teachings from Gaṇapatiārya and Ādarśārya concluded this past week in Sintra, Portugal. Graciously offered by our noble teachers, the wisdom and nectar of the Subhāṣitas, as taught by Ācārya in Mysore in 2015, were unpacked and beautifully explained to us—like-minded co-passengers on the Sadvidyā path.
The series of Subhāṣitas communicated an Ideal Lifestyle, one that supports a healthy, joyful life aligned with the higher goals of Realization and Liberation. Both Āryas diligently prepared and delivered deeply engaging classes with the noble intention of guiding and supporting our journey.
Each day included JY practice with Ādarśārya, classes with the teachers, meditation, and a nourishing midday meal—followed by moments of relaxed communal recreation. Stacey and Jonathan, wholeheartedly fulfilling their hosting duties, offered warm and attentive care to everyone and all that was needed throughout the retreat.
A classic misty Sintra morning greeted us on the final day. The shala was full and beautifully lit. Stacey shared printed reminders of Ācārya’s words: “We should begin and end in silence.” With gentle rain falling outside, the atmosphere was perfectly poised for turning inward. A beautiful practice guided by Ādarśārya concluded the morning, anchored by the inspiring reflection:
“Lead a simple life, a happy life. Practice regularly without expecting quick results—it will take time.”
Later that day, concluding classes were offered by both Āryas, whose closing words touched us all deeply.
We offer heartfelt gratitude to our noble teachers, who once again set an inspiring example through both their teachings and conduct. Deep thanks to Stacey and Jonathan for facilitating this retreat with such grace and care, and to all who attended—for your presence, participation, curiosity, and appreciation.
Both Āryas expressed their sincere gratitude to the group, whose deep interest in the subject matter supported the preparation, understanding, and communication of the timeless wisdom of the Subhāṣitas.
Namaste
