Year Two Assignment – Leave off one habit
Devon, Ashland Jivana Group
For my assignment, I chose to bring a new level of presence to my relationship with food. Acharya has shared that “under certain conditions, food is considered precious.” I set up the conditions in my life to experience the preciousness of food. I carved out spacious pockets of time to cook the Ayurvedic recipes, to be conscious of my thoughts, and set the intention to eat the ideal quantity, at supportive times, and practice Gratitude.
The effects were palpable. I noticed that my body felt light, there was a subtle inner hum, a heightened state of awareness, and a sweet contentment.
And then, the cravings came. I am practicing compassion towards myself, and simultaneously leaning in to the power of precious food… Slowly, building my inner capacity to experience its gifts. It too, is a practice.
