September Weekend Retreat, Ashland
Post from Celeste
The greatest message this weekend, for me, was “living with lightness.” It was the thread woven through the weekend, linking all our activities and conversations.
We started the weekend being introduced to the 3rd year postures.
We had fun playing with balance and soft landings.
On Saturday, we enjoyed a delicious meal of Moong Dal Sambar with Green Beans. Which has been described as “good for all constitutions in all seasons and may be consumed at any time of day. It balances kapha, vata and pitta.”
For lecture, we sat down to listen as Kristin shared the 10 Lifestyle Tips document written by Ācārya that support wellbeing and relaxation for All.
These yogic tips speak directly to my heart. These tips are sound. These tips are true. They are practical. These tips, when followed, make everything easy. They resonated with the group. One aspirant described her desire to applaud/clap and cheer after just a few of the 10 lifestyle tips were shared. I echo her sentiment. In the West, we may struggle because we have been conditioned to stray from these simple tips. For myself, the first tip “pursue meaningful work… that naturally suits you” is one that I have strayed from and look forward to correcting.
My wish is for everyone to have the opportunity to hear the ‘ten tips’ and incorporate them into daily living.
My heart is full every time we get together. The noble community, the meals, the postures and tips all support lightness. By Sunday evening, a layer had been uncovered and a new lightness and ease experienced.
My heartfelt gratitude to Ācārya for continuing to share gems that support us on our path. Gratitude to Kristin for her time, for her efforts to lift us up, and for shining a light in the correct direction. Gratitude to Laura, Devon, Carole, and Maura for sharing their gifts with the community. Gratitude to nature for pure air and beautiful weather. And gratitude to the noble community that came together.
