Bhagavad-Gītā Retreat, Porcupine Castle, Coorg 2018
Post from Maria-Michel
I leave india today with my heart filled with Joy, Light, and Love, and much humility. I feel inspired once again to revisit my intention towards my target, and commit to making the necessary changes to my life in order to simplify and stay focused on the target. Kṛṣṇa’s advise on supporting a yogic journey is engraved in my mind. Simply put, our last lecture pointed to:
1. don’t eat too much (it causes disturbance to the system, excess energy and a fickle mind)
2. don’t sleep too much (it develops tamas)
3. experience isolation (a quiet place for practice)
4. do your duty (or else there will be hooks that prevent a calm and quiet mind)
I feel inspired to try and sleep and eat the right amount according to my own constitution, and to sit in isolation daily, and be clear as to what my duty is. It feels very simple, but it requires serious focus to not let other things in life interfere or distract. If the target is set, all distraction will hopefully fall away and take less and less importance in my life. Thank you Ācārya for providing right knowledge, in hopes that right knowledge cancels wrong knowledge!
I am eternally grateful to Ācārya for bringing forth these sacred teachings in a period where it feels so opportune. What a gift. I hope to give the teachings the proper honor that they deserve. It is truly such a privilege that feels unique and sacred.
In humility and gratitude, Marie-Michel
