Yakṣa asks: Which is the best tool to achieve happiness?
Dharmarāja answered: Having good character one can achieve the best happiness.
Here the word sila is used. Its general meaning is noble character. Meaning that, through our own character and actions, we should be able to get both yoga and bhoga.
All together the 5 yamas and 5 niyamas, are know as sila, instead of referring to these 10, sila is used. Following these principles, generally, you will begin experiencing the bliss inside.
If from one side, you practice yogic techniques, and from the other the lifestyle is not aligned, there will be holes. Like a vessel to store grains, there should not be any holes. The yamas and niyamas shield you, they enable one to store the grains gained through yogic techniques.
