Yasha Prashna Talks, Mysore, 2017
The first lecture was, of course, beautiful. Ācārya introduced the Mahābhārata, and contextualized the section he’ll be speaking about. The 3rd chapter, Yasha Prashna, or Forest Part (enquiry) contains an implied meaning of granthi, or knots that one must pass through to attain Realization. “The Q&A are related to yoga philosophy, in detail. What mental approach should be there for Realization and Liberation.”
It was beautiful to witness Ācārya’s heartfelt enthusiasm for this subject, having been an Assistant Professor of Literary Criticism for 22 years in Mysore Sanskrit College. Ācārya shared his excitement in having this opportunity to enter into this epic poem once again.
