Bhagavad-gītā Retreat, Porcupine Castle, Coorg, November 2017
Post from Teresa
Coming back home from the India Retreat journey, I am struggling not to settle back into the old routines.
I feel I need to change so many things: food items, cooking, eating and sleeping routines, daily practices and oil baths. In themselves, simple, external things. Simple, but not easy to alter, because they have carved deep grooves in my lifestyle.
Changing them will disrupt long-rooted habits and comfort zones. It will also be required that those around me somehow adjust.
Many battles are to come, if not to be won, at least to be fought in an honorable way.
‘The goal should not be set on the victory’, Ācārya said, ‘it should be to establish dharma. This way, the goal will be reached, even if victory is not reached – if one gets killed. The goal should not be on the yield of a tree, but on planting the tree.’
I will fight this war.
Dharma-kṣetre, kuruk-kṣetre
