Each week we come together as a community.
Together we grow, supporting ourselves and each other towards reaching our goal.
Our target: to unite with the Divine.
Our tools: daily life practice, our teacher, and our food.
Every other week we alternate between morning and evening gatherings. On Wednesday mornings, we practice asana, pranayama, and mouna sadhana together in silence, followed by watching the talks on the Bhagavad Gita and discussion. On Wednesday evenings we meet and sit together for pranayama and meditation, followed by watching the Yaksha Prashna ( Yakṣa Praśna) teachings.
Each week, the Yakṣa Praśna talks reveal a message that is relevant to present life, and weekly we are filled with gratitude and awe. Gratitude to Ācārya for the teachings and awe for how affecting the teachings are to the mind. They validate current human experiences and encourage one to continue towards the goal.
Monthly, we cook a meal together. Our recent cooking class was filled with smiles, laughter and happy bellies. Our meal was lovingly prepared by Ross, Carol, Tara, Laura R, Laura G, Holly, Devon, Ashley, and Clara. We were treated to homemade tamarind sauce, carrot palya, and pongal.
Pongal is considered tridhatus samya, balances all three doshas. It is light to digest, favourable for all seasons, and suitable for any time of day.
Our next cooking class is the morning of June 20th. We will be making, vegetable bath (w/spring veggies) and carrot halva (the new recipe shared in this month’s Sadvidya Newsletter.)
Wishing everyone well!
