What is laziness?
Not practicing what is learned.
“Though you know but are not practicing. . .
Due to the domination of tamas, there arises ālasya – physical laziness – and mental laziness, or styānam. Laziness is the failure to perform a required action. Laziness is vast; we must strive to understand it. Not honoring early to rise, early to bed, and proper elimination is laziness. Irregular practice acts like a poison creating ups and downs in vāta, pitta, kapha, and a strong poison can be deadly.”
